This Privacy Policy explains how My Highdeas (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use myhighdea.com/m, the My Highdeas iOS app, or the My Highdeas Android app.
Who can use the app
My Highdeas is for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide: email address, password, optional display name/username, and optional phone number if you choose to add one.
- Content you create: highdeas (posts), text, photos, videos, comments and replies, likes, tags, saved items and Stash collections, Moments (which expire after 24 hours), messages, and friend connections you make in the app.
- Activity and safety data: notifications we create for you (comments, mentions, likes, friend requests), your notification settings, muted threads and words, hidden creators, blocks, and reports you submit.
- View counts: when a highdea is on your screen we record a view (at most once per day per post). Creators only see totals, never who viewed. For Moments, the author sees how many friends viewed.
- Invite links: if you join through a friend’s invite link, we record that the invite was used so your friend can see that someone joined.
- Push notifications (optional): if you turn on notifications, we store a device or browser push token to deliver them. Notifications are never required; turn them off any time in Settings or your device settings.
- Technical information: basic device and log data needed to run and secure the service (such as app version, approximate network info, and crash diagnostics).
- Contacts (optional, device only): if you use “Invite from contacts” in the mobile app, contacts stay on your device for inviting friends. We do not upload your full address book to our servers for that feature.
How we use information
- To create and manage your account and let you sign in
- To show your feed, friends, comments, and profile features
- To operate, secure, and improve My Highdeas
- To respond to support requests and policy or legal requirements
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to run third-party advertising networks inside the app at this time.
How we share information
- Other users: content you post as public (Everyone) or share with friends can be seen by those audiences. Your display name and profile picture may appear with your posts and comments.
- Service providers: hosting and infrastructure providers that process data only to run My Highdeas (for example, web hosting, push delivery through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push Notification service if you turn notifications on, and Google Fonts for the web app’s typefaces).
- Featured content: partner or sponsored items are always labeled “Featured” or “Sponsored”. We do not share your personal information with partners.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect users, the service, or our rights.
Account and data deletion
You may delete individual posts you created while signed in. To request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data, follow the instructions here:

We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.
Data retention and security
We keep account and content data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International users
Our servers and providers may process information in the United States. If you use My Highdeas from another country, you understand your information may be transferred to the U.S.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version at this URL and change the effective date above.
